The Invincible Computer Click

The computer click has arrived wearing a black suit and necktie. It pervades our society. One click and doors open and opportunity arrives. Its ominpresence is a difficult thing. If not a plague. A nasty little trick played upon our society that promises everything. Yet deprives us of our power.

The computer click is a weak-kneed hero. A blind combatant. A servant who rebels against its master. Denies us what we trully want. It dissatisfies the masses. A broken-down empty thing. The click lacks manners. And takes away our dignity. This vagabound in baggy pants that spreads rumors about us.

Could there be a click item in the future of news, poetry or book sites that says "Like this" or "Unimpressed". The click is not mightier than the sword. But in an illiterate society the barbarian click invades, plunders an...d otherwise negates our gray matter. It's all about convenience.

That evil demon that possess us like no other.

The Daisy Question

I remember the game from my childhood. You picked a daisy and removed the petals one by one. Do you think this game has any significance on whether someone loves you are not?

What is the scientific evidence? I'd say it's quite heavily in favor of such a grand inquiry. Lots of people make use of this game. I'd say that many of the world's problems can be solves by such a method.

"He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not or She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not (originally effeuiller la marguerite in French) is a game of French origin, in which one person seeks to determine whether the object of their affection returns that affection or not.

A person playing the game alternately speaks the phrases "He [or she] loves me," and "He loves me not," while picking one petal off a flower (usually an oxeye daisy) for each phrase. The phrase they speak on picking off the last petal supposedly represents the truth between the object of their affection loving them or not. The player typically is motivated by attraction to the person they're speaking of while reciting the phrases. They may seek to reaffirm a pre-existing belief, or act out of whimsy."

A humorous twist on the game, is, "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Lots."

The Responsible Pig

Not every pig is a responsible pig. Some pigs shirk their duty. They can't understand they must work hard to get ahead. The great pigs are the pigs that carry their own their load. They read big books. They know math. They can be doctors and lawyers.

So very few pigs accept personal responsibility for anything. Some are selfish. Matrimony is a big step. There are many attractive pigsto select from. Which one would be best? More understanding? More devoted. In relationships the pig blames another pig, the piglets, their piglets blame the teachers, the teachers blame the parent pigs. And on and on it goes. In what passes for therapy these days pigs blame their parents, their clergy, their neuroses, their condition, their medication, their counselor.

For the great pig, love is important. Family. Keeping it all real. I am pig. Yes, but I work like a dog. Always be on time. Keep a neat sty. Be polite to chickens and cows and goats. Never utter a harsh word at a duck. Whisper to horses of your undying affection.

That’s the great thing about the pig blame game, there’s always someone or something at fault. And as long as I can assign fault, then there’s not too much I need to do. .

As far as personal growth is concerned, the pig is vulnerable. Pig's fault doesn’t really matter. Our growth is not so much from our experiences as it is from our piggish thoughts and beliefs arising from those great pig experiences.

Beards New Symbol of Sluggish Economy

Since the recession Americans are buying less shaving utensils than ever before. The diminished earning power of the average American shaver and the increased price trends have changed the way men look at shaving. The urge to save money is greater than the need to appear clean-shaven.

Fewer purchased razor blades and razors suggest Americans are attempting to find innovative ways of saving money. "I never liked shaving every morning anyway," remarked Paul Brinner of Knoxville, Tennessee. "If I can cut back here on shaving cream why not? It's all there is to it. I can't afford to shave everyday. So I'm cutting back."

The odds are that more and more American men will be growing beards to beat the cost of shaving. A neatly trimmed beard may prove to be standard, if the economy keeps the ways it's going.

Abraham Lincoln's Recipe for Southern Fried Chicken

Abraham Lincoln enjoyed fried chicken. He preferred it over any dish, even pheasant or turkey. In The White House, there was often scents of fried chicken at banquets. Biscuits always accompanied the meal.

Abrahma Lincoln House Seasoning:

1 cup salt

1/4 cup black pepper

1/4 cup garlic powder

Southern Fried Chicken:

4 eggs

1/3 cup water

1 cup hot red pepper sauce

2 cups self-rising flour

1 teaspoon pepper

House Seasoning

2 1/2-pound chicken, cut into pieces

Oil, for frying, preferably peanut oil

To make the House Seasoning, mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

In a medium size bowl, beat the eggs with the water. Add enough hot sauce so the egg mixture is bright orange. In another bowl, combine the flour and pepper. Season the chicken with the House Seasoning. Dip the seasoned chicken in the egg, and then coat well in the flour mixture.

Heat the oil to 350 degrees F in a deep pot. Do not fill the pot more than 1/2 full with oil.

Fry the chicken in the oil until brown and crisp. Dark meat takes longer than white meat. It should take dark meat about 13 to 14 minutes, white meat around 8 to 10 minutes.
