The Haunted Church
At night, the First Baptist Church of Keystone Falls, Tennessee, glows with an eerie blue light. Not moonlight or starlight. Not light from the streetlamps. But a luminous blue that makes people get out of their cars and park across the street.
Whispers have been heard coming from inside the church. And blue ghosts have been observed slipping from beneath the church and streaming from the cracks in the church sidewalks. Oblong shapes hover above the church. A wind sweeps from the church to the parking lot, sometimes so powerful it sways the trees and bushes. The leaves swirled high.
A few people have gotten out of their cars and approached the church. One brave man entered the church. Only to never return. The local newspaper wrote about the incident. No one has seen the man since that incident.
Sometimes people call the church. But no one picks up the phone. Notes have been slipped under the church door. Asking questions, like "Are you angels?" and "What do you want?"
No answers have come forth. Though two letters were received anonymously be Kay Melland, a fifth grade geography teacher. "The letters arrived in my mailbox on Thursday and when I opened them a blue puff of smoke came out and I heard a voice. The voice said, "Please remember to attend church services every Sunday. Read your Bible. Prayer every day. Praise the Lord."
That's the blue smoke said. And Kay was quote the newspaper saying that blue smoke curled around her livingroom sofa and watch television that afternoon. It also helped with washing the clothes and dishes. And to her delight, the blue smoke spent time in the kitchen and prepared a chicken casserole, a chocolate cake and a half-gallon of iced tea.
